Lorna Wilcox

Parent Governor

I have lived in Eastbourne all my life, and came to the Hampden Park area 11 years ago when I met my, now, husband. My first contact with The Parkland Federation was about 6 years ago when we moved my step daughter into Year 5. She thrived, and so when it became time to enrole my son in school, Parkland Infants was my first choice. He is now in Year 1 and thoroughly enjoys school!

I was a primary teacher for 10 years, but when my daughter was born in 2016, I decided not to return. However, I am still passionate about education and find working with children to be the most rewarding, and entertaining, profession. I still currently work with children, though in a less formal way, at Drusillas, where you will usually find me driving the train or face painting!

By becoming a governor, I will be able to support the, already outstanding, work the staff in this school do, and also to put across the view of the parents.
